Workshop Jigéen laa ci laa bokk

On Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 July 2023, the Centre Kiné Diop, Melokaan and Nit Tekna Logik jointly organised a workshop for pupils at Dalifort Lower Secondary School. The aim was to reflect on the social roles typically associated with women and to find out whether the pupils agreed with these roles or not.

We didn’t want to hold a round-table discussion but rather a participatory workshop, so with Moussa Thiam – ‘Kalamou’ – facilitating, we ran this workshop where the pupils worked in groups, from discussing ideas to creating a short sketch, in which they reflected their vision of the future for women.

The pupils’ response was very engaged and positive, which is why we hope to be able to organise a follow-up to these workshops soon.
